Preventing Neurological Disorders: Essential Tips
“Hi, Dad. What are neurological disorders?” Parul asked.
“Neurological disorders are usually caused by viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections affecting the nervous system. Diseases of the nervous system include Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, dementia, epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases such as migraine, stroke, and other headaches.” her dad replied.
“So, Dad, how does air pollution add to this?” Parul asked.
“ Dear, studies have shown that air pollution can accelerate the progression of Alzheimer's disease. On the other hand, Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the movement and coordination of body parts. Air pollution has been linked to an increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease as well.” her Dad replied.
“Dad, how can one stay safe?” she asked.
“ One can work on healing your nervous system naturally by using deep breathing techniques to reduce nervous disorder. Box breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, and alternate nostril breathing are all terrific ways to invoke calm during a state of panic. You can also try meditation, yoga, and deep breathing to boost mental health.”
Her dad concluded, "Nuts and dry fruits, seeds, eggs, green leafy vegetables, broccoli, fish, bananas, etc., are beneficial for strengthening the nervous system.”
