Guide to Air Purifiers for Open Areas
“Sahil, we install air purifiers in our home for good quality air. But what can we do for outside places?” Rohan asked his elder brother.
“If the outside air is harmful, it should be purified before breathing. It requires an extensive filtration system that blocks smog and noise simultaneously to protect your health. These six pollutants (carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, particulate matter of various size fractions, and sulfur dioxide) are common in outdoor air and can harm human health and the environment.” Sahil replied.
He added, “One method that is becoming increasingly popular is installing an outdoor air purifier. These inexpensive yet effective systems can be installed in crowded areas prone to pollution, including airports, bus stands, metro stations, cinema halls, assembly halls, etc. Emphasis should be given to the municipal corporation or related departments or institutions to install air purifiers in public places.”
“That’s a great idea. When pollution levels are poor, one may experience difficulty breathing normally, cough with or without mucus, chest discomfort, tightness, pain, throat irritation, wheezing, difficulty breathing, and unusual tiredness. This is why we must take measures and inhale pollutant-free air.” Rohan concluded.
