एकीकृत कीट प्रबंधन (आईपीएम) विधियों का उपयोग करना चाहिए। यह एक ऐसी व्यवस्था है जिसमें कीटों फसल को बचाने यांत्रिक, जैविक और रासायनिक तरीकों से कीटों का नियंत्रण करने की व्यवस्था है।
कीट नाशकों का उपयोग बहुत गर्मी और तेज हवाओं की स्थिति में नहीं करना चाहिए। कीटनाशकों के उपयोग के समय यदि आसपास घर हो तो सभी दरवाजों और खिड़कियों को बंद करके अंदर रहना चाहिए।
